Brad was raised on a farm in Rosedale, just east of Chilliwack in the Fraser Valley, where he learned the value of hard work, machinery, and animal care from a young age. His father, a Korean War Veteran, instilled in him a deep sense of duty and responsibility. Seeking adventure and further life lessons, Brad joined the Canadian Armed Forces at 19, where he proudly served his country for 12 years. His military career was cut short by injuries sustained in the Persian Gulf, leading to a medical release.

During his service, Brad met his future wife in Australia, and after returning to Canada, they settled in the Cowichan Valley. For the past 20 years, they have built a life in the valley, raising their four children in the community they love.

Following his military career, Brad pursued further education at Camosun College and BCIT, where he earned his Power Engineer certification. He has since worked both locally and away but now feels the time is right to embrace self-employment and contribute fully to the local economy.

Brad is deeply committed to the Cowichan Valley, a place he believes is not only perfect for raising a family but also for building a business. His journey reflects his dedication to serving his community, and his new venture is a testament to his belief in the strength and importance of locally owned businesses.

Danielle’s journey to the Cowichan Valley began with a brief stay in Victoria before she and her husband Brad settled in Mill Bay, where they purchased their first home. Over the next decade, they raised their four children in this close-knit community, deeply rooted in the values of family and hard work.

In 2016, Danielle and Brad expanded their horizons by moving to their current property, where they established a small hobby farm. With a passion for sustainability and a desire to provide wholesome food for their family, they began raising their own meat and producing farm-fresh eggs. What started as a simple family project has flourished into a thriving roadside egg business, symbolizing Danielle’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to self-reliance.

As their eldest child embarks on a new chapter at university, Danielle and Brad are seizing the opportunity to embark on a new venture together. With Brad no longer working out of province, they are excited to devote their time and energy to building West Coast Rental, a business that reflects their dedication to the Cowichan Valley and their desire to stay close as a family.

Danielle’s deep connection to the land and her community, along with her experience in managing their farm, provides a strong foundation for their business. She is eager to bring her organizational skills and commitment to customer service to West Coast Rental, contributing to the growth and success of their family-owned enterprise.
